Chris currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Bank Operations for UMB Bank. He’s worked for global companies such as Intel, Hewlett Packard, Citigroup and Dow Chemical. He earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Kansas State University in 2002, and his M.B.A. from Pennsylvania State University in 2005. While at Penn State, Chris focused on Supply Chain Management and New Product Development. Chris’s leadership track started early as he accepted a position as Vice President within Citigroup at age 25, and by age 28 moved to UMB having the responsibility for an operating budget of $43M and a headcount exceeding 500 people. While primarily balancing his career with family life, he’s also extremely involved in the community evidenced by his leadership positions on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers & Big Sisters, Board of Trustees for the Foundation of Kansas State University, and finally his active involvement with the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. Chris is married to his wife Angie, and they have a 16 month-old daughter named Ava. Chris is very grateful to have received several prestigious honors in his short career, among them are: CareerFocus Magazine 2012 National Eagle Leadership Award, being recognized in 2011 by the Kansas City Business Magazine as one of “Kansas City’s Next Generation of Business Leaders: A Rising Star under the Age of 40”, and lastly recognized by UMB Bank as “Leader of the Year” across their national footprint in 2010.
