Steven Murphy is the principal at Venture Dynamics LLC. Venture Dynamic's mission is to provide strategy consultation to CEO and Executive Management Teams that are experiencing a transformation in their business. Murphy is a results oriented leader with 35 years of diverse experience having led organizations ranging from a $125M commercial data businesses to a $65M agricultural non-profit associations to multiple technology start-ups. Murphy’s professional emphasis is on innovation and change management accomplished through motivated organizational teams.

Most recently Murphy was CEO of the National Pork Board, responsible for the US Pork industry’s research, marketing (domestic and international), and consumer information programs. Prior to the National Pork Board, Murphy built three start-up companies designed around innovative technologies and information management strategies. Murphy was a founder and President/COO of, prior to which he was the founder and President of Data Broadcasting Corporation's AgCast Division. While at DBC Murphy was co-responsible for developing the financial website MarketWatch and contributed to its merger with CBS.

Prior to Murphy’s technology endeavors, Murphy directed sales, marketing and operational efforts of a top 10 hybrid seed company. The last three years of Murphy’s seed industry tenure was with British Petroleum where he was responsible for the acquisition and brand/operation integration of seed companies that had a strategic fit with the parent company.

Currently Murphy serves as a Director and Treasurer for the Spring Point Project, which is committed to improving the lives of people with Type 1 diabetes by providing a virtually unlimited supply of medical-grade, high-health pigs to serve as safe islet cell donors to people with diabetes. Additionally Murphy is on the Advisory Board and provides strategic consulting services for Agristrand Biocomposites, a Company that has global patents for converting soy stover, a waste by-product of soybean production, to fibre that replaces wood in the manufacture of Medium Density Fibreboard. Agristrand currently owns and operates a 180,00 sq ft manufacturing facility in Mankato, MN.

Additionally Murphy serves on the Board of Directors of Schillinger Genetics Inc, The Purdue University Alumni Association and the Purdue University Trustee Nominating Committee. Murphy is a Purdue University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
