Kevin Fryer - Founder, Manager of the Company and the Managing Director of SparkLabKC

Fryer is the Managing Director of SparkLabKC. Fryer has extensive experience in the management of growing businesses, from startups to Fortune 100 companies, with developing business units. Before founding SparkLabKC, Fryer developed Overlap, Inc., and WatchGuard Financial, LLC, into global tools for the financial community. He started and built a division for a heavy construction company, Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., to more than $35M in less than two years. 

Fryer also served Andrews McMeel Universal, New Media, as Vice President of Corporate Development. He helped found and develop uclick, llc, a leading syndicator of online content. Prior to that, Fryer served Sprint Corporation for 10 years in various officer-level positions helping position Sprint as a premier global telecommunications company.

Don Hutchison - SparkLabKC Founder

Hutchison is an advisor and angel investor. His experience includes: board member at Marin Software; co-founder and Chairman at Recurrent Energy; CEO and Chairman of Work.com; Senior Vice President and General Manager at Excite@Home; and Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Netcom.

Successful exits of portfolio companies include: Sugar Media, TravelPost, Trovix, Recurrent Energy and WWComs. Investments and engagements include: Marin Software, Sugar, Inc., Vizu, Revision3, incentalign, Starmaker Interactive, SeniorHomes, LawPivot, BoostCTR, Apportable, Parse.ly, Close.ly and RethinkDB. Hutchison’s specialties include: product marketing, distribution strategies, revenue generation, financing, organizational structure and leadership guidance.

Vincent “Ace” Wagner - SparkLabKC Founder

Wagner is an experienced investor and mentor/coach to late-stage startup businesses. Current engagements include: large-scale electricity storage; advanced carburetion systems that radically reduce emissions and improve fuel utilization; organic farming; and electronic process technology to facilitate banking for the un-banked segment of the U.S. workforce. 

Earlier in his career, Wagner served as CEO of Wagner Distribution Holding, a drywall/ceiling/insulation supply company, with six locations and sales to more than 30 foreign countries. He has helped found two not-for-profit corporations: one provides scholarships for Central American students to U.S. colleges; the other provides collateral for low-cost loans as an alternative to payday loans. Wagner was selected to the WK Kellogg Leadership Program as a Fellow 1990-1993.

Mike Laddin - SparkLabKC Founder

Laddin is CEO and founder of LeaderPoint, which provides general management and leadership development courses to over 700 firms. LeaderPoint has conducted leadership development and strategic planning work with firms such as UbiSoft, Activision, Electronic Arts, CNET, CBS, and more. Laddin has more than 25 years of senior management experience including seven years in health care marketing management. He was also General Manager for a national magazine publishing firm and CFO/COO of a pharmaceutical research association.

Al Eidson - SparkLabKC Founder

Eidson has founded and led two marketing companies, including his current firm, Eidson & Partners, Inc., which focuses on new product strategies and introductions. The firm has been engaged in the market launch of more than 200 products/ventures including dozens of Microsoft products. Eidson began his career in Brand Management (Folgers) at Procter & Gamble. He has been a stockholder in several early stage companies and has taught at the Kauffman Foundation.
